Covenant Baptist Church is about. .
.
Minds for Truth
"What is truth?"
"Does truth exist?"
"Can truth be known?"
These questions permeate the society and culture we live in. Is there
an answer for these questions? Yes, there is.
"Our concern with truth is an inevitable expression of our concern
with God. If God exists, then he is the measure of all things, and what
he thinks about all things is the measure of what we should think. Indifference
to the truth is indifference to the mind of God. Our concern with truth
is simply an echo of our concern with God."
John Piper
At Covenant Baptist Church we desire to be joyfully passionate about truth.
We believe it is through the Word of God that we learn truth. Therefore,
we are unashamedly biblical in our approach to all areas of life. The
modern mind scoffs at the idea that absolute truth exists, yet each one
of us desperately longs to know it and experience the stability, hope
and joy it brings.
Come join us as we humbly seek after the timeless truth of God’s word.
Hearts for God
"What is worship?"
"Is worship about me?"
"Is worship about God?"
"Does God really care how I worship Him?"
Someone has made this observation:
Modern man worships his work, works at his play and plays at his worship.
At Covenant, we are a people who believe that minds set upon Gods
truth will produce hearts that blaze with a passion to know and experience
God. Therefore, we want to be a people who love God with all of our hearts.
This love for God is reflected in our longing for deep God-centered worship.
To be God-centered in our worship is to have God as our primary focus.
Through vibrant congregational singing, faithful prayer, the reading of
the scriptures and preaching the whole counsel of God we seek to please
God with our worship. God-centered worship is not only commanded, it is
the only thing that will bring joy and refreshment for the soul.
We hope that you too can have your longing for true heart-worship satisfied
as we center everything we do in worship around our glorious God and Savior,
the Lord Jesus Christ.
A Covenant Community
"What is church?"
"What is a church member?"
"Does church membership mean anything?"
Our culture is becoming more impersonal and isolated. We suffer from Internet
isolation in our homes and mega mergers in the marketplace.
At Covenant, our name reflects our understanding of Gods relationship
with His people, but it also reflects our desire for genuine relationships
with one another. Our fellowship is beyond the superficial since it is
based upon our common supernatural relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
People long for authenticity in their lives, yet much of Christianity
seems to be lacking this quality. As a church we desperately want to see
this changed beginning with our own lives. Through accountability, prayer,
fellowship and encouragement, Christian authenticity can be restored.
As the days seem darker, the beauty of authentic Christian living shines
brighter. We hope this is your greatest desire.
